Fortress Technologies Completes Symantec Independent Vulnerability Assessment

Symantec tested Fortress’ system software, which is used to oversee the performance and control of its line of outdoor deployable, man-wearable, and vehicle-based wireless networking solutions. The test included sustained penetration attacks on the Fortress ES520 Secure Wireless Bridge, an all-in-one network access device with built-in security. Independent security professionals attempted to hack into the system using the same methods that malicious attackers employ in an operational, deployed environment. At the time of the assessment, Symantec found the overall architecture of the system software to be designed and implemented with security best practices in mind.
