Release date: 2/18/2010
Integration of the industry leading Fortress FIPS 140-2 secure wireless product family with Librestream’s Onsight Mobile Video Collaboration system delivers a powerful mobile solution for sensitive Military and Government Agency communication environments

Winnipeg, Canada and Reston, VA, USA –  Librestream, the leader in mobile collaboration solutions, and Fortress Technologies, the leader in secure tactical wireless communications, announced today that they have integrated their wireless products to deliver a uniquely secure and complete mobile video collaboration solution for government/military organizations and contractors.

As part of the agreement, Librestream has integrated the Fortress FIPS 140-2 software client within its line of Onsight mobile devices. When customers use the FIPS-enabled Onsight device with the Fortress line of FIPS 140-2 compliant mesh solutions for man-wearable, vehicle, and infrastructure-based networking capabilities, the video, audio and data sent from the Onsight mobile devices meet the rigorous transmission security requirements of defence and other government agencies.

"We started looking for a FIPS compliant wireless solution after many of our government contacts identified that as a requirement. We feel that Fortress offers the most compelling secure wireless infrastructure product line on the market and we are pleased to be partnering with them. We believe that the Fortress-Librestream partnership delivers a truly unique secure real time video collaboration offering," stated Kerry Thacher, President & CEO of Librestream.

"We saw significant demand for a high quality video collaboration solution within government and military applications such as video surveillance, tactical communications, training exercises and emergency response triage. Our clients were asking us for a way to visually connect tactical field teams to command centers that were miles away. We feel that Librestream excels in delivering that capability and we are pleased to be working with them to provide live high definition video collaboration to our customers," said Janet Kumpu, President of Fortress.
