Release date: 2/1/2010
Company Expands CAISI support, Increases Sales Team, and Launches Six New Products
RESTON, Va. – Feb 02, 2010 – Fortress Technologies, the leader in secure tactical wireless communications, today announced that it has completed its second consecutive (corrected) year of triple digit revenue growth. The growth is a direct result of Fortress’ expanded support of the U.S. Army’s Combat Service Support Automated Information System Interface (CAISI); new projects with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and National Guard; as well as the launch of six new products enabling complete on-the-move connectivity via the industry’s most advanced mesh solution.

"2009 was another extraordinary year for Fortress," said Janet Kumpu, President, Fortress. "In addition to increasing our revenue by over 100 percent, we made significant investments to expand our sales and marketing teams. The company also successfully delivered several mission critical projects including EMSS and the Mobile Wireless Expeditionary Network (MWEN) for the Marine Corps; expansion of CAISI – the Department of Defense’s largest wireless program – for the Army; and started two significant Suite B initiatives with the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and Department of Energy."

Fortress also released six new products to extend and enhance the military’s ability to deliver fully mobile secure mesh networking capabilities. These new products deliver secure wireless communications for vehicle and dismounted soldier networks, enhance the resiliency and effective range of tactical mesh networks, and meet the need for 4.4 GHz licensed spectrum solutions.

These products received immediate attention from the community, including significant evaluations by the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. Additionally, the ES820 Vehicle Mesh Point was recognized with an award by a prominent industry research firm for its delivery of on-the-move vehicle communications.

"Launching the new products cemented our commitment to providing the best performing and most mission capable secure mobile wireless solutions to the DoD and expanded our footprint in this space," said Kumpu. "These products are equipped with the industry-leading security required for use in government environments, ensuring that Fortress is perfectly positioned to continue our growth in 2010 and beyond."
